Business Challenge
With thirty office staff in Ballymakeera a reliable and cost effective telephony system is an obvious requirement. However the DSL line quality provided through the traditional wired voice network was insufficient.
Solution
Digitalforge installed Wireless broadband running at high speeds with the low contention and low latency required for VOIP applications. A 20mb connection was put in place to allow for the high number of VOIP users and internet usage. In order to achieve this we had to upgrade our infrastructure on the access point end of the service to enable high speeds of up to 20mb.
Firebird opted to use a 3rd party VOIP provider. Voice over Internet Protocol (Voice over IP, VoIP) is a family of technologies, methodologies, communication protocols, and transmission techniques for the delivery of voice communications and multimedia sessions over Internet Protocol(IP) networks, such as the Internet.
